Kirkjubaer is a unique guesthouse, converted from an old church built in 1925 in the old fishing village of Stodvarfjordur.
The surroundings are beautiful, with high mountains and many walking trails around the area, and there is also a nice swimming pool with a hot pot in the village. Daytrips from Kirkjubaer allow you to visit many interesting places in eastern Iceland.
Being one of the youngest landmasses in the world, Iceland is of particular fascination to geographers and geologists, and of course, Iceland’s famous Geysers and volcanic Spas are not too far away. So get ready to loosen your muscles and untie your shoes. Wriggle your toes in the revitalizing waters.
At Kirkjubaer a sleeping bag accommodation is offered. If requested, beds with linen can be provided. The house sleeps 8-10 persons in 4 double beds.
Fully equipped kitchen corner and of course toilet and a shower.
Internet access is available from spring to autumn.
Two kayaks are available for rent for rowing in the fjord.
A 14 feet rowing boat can also be rented for sightseeing or fishing.
A fully equipped caravan is available for a rent for shorter or longer trips.
